Vaccation: Day 2

What a busy busy day!

We started off our day later than what we wanted, but it had iced over last night and we had to let things melt and warm up before we visited the Biltmore. We toured The Biltmore, had lunch at The Stable Cafe', participated in a wine tasting, toured behind the scenes of the winery and had dinner in downtown Asheville. Here are some of the hundred pics that I took today. Hope you enjoy!!

The fountain on the front lawn....

My attempt of photo journalism......

Thanks mom and dad for the camera! I'm lovin' it!!

This is the new home that Hunter and I bought up from Fannie May...... That government of ours....it's just so darn giving! They'll give a loan to anyone....for anything! Can't wait for them to bail us out of our mortgage! Or better yet...we can't wait for Obama to get in office and issue a stimulus check.....that can pay our light bill for our new home!

The wine cellar.....the winery use to be a diary farm...now it's a winery and wine cellar! It's amazing!
The Biltmore seal on their wine barrels.....

The wine barrels....can you believe these barrels cost $800 each and they only use them 3 times before cutting them in half and using them for a flower pots!! The cheapest barrel they buy cost $200. They put White Zin in those.....did you know that White Zin is started off like red wine....they just separate the liquid from the seeds and skin quicker then red wine. And.....white wine has no skin or seeds in them....it's strictly liquid.

This is Conrad....he is the protector of the house! Man....if he could talk!! I bet he could tell us some stories!

What a good but exhausting day! We are killing our self trying to take it all in and explore everything that we can!

Vacation: Day 1

Greetings from The Biltmore Estate!!

Hunter and I are celebrating our 1-year anniversary this week. Our anniversary was August 25th, however, we opted out of doing gifts then and decided to take a vacay. And what a much needed vacay this is! Last night we split up our trip by staying in Birmingham with Hunter's fam (and left Oscar with them....both Oscar and his grandparents are LOVING it)!! This morning, we started the day off right with a breakfast for champions from Krispy Kreme and then drove for what seemed for hours!! We stopped at an outlet mall in Georgia for a "quick stop" and 2 hours later....got back on the road. However, I did put a big dent in my Christmas shopping and my wallet. After arriving in Asheville...we had a great dinner in their historic village and did the tourist thing. Due to rain, we were unable to walk the streets, but here are some pics that I snapped tonight. There will be many many more pics tomorrow!

This is the entrance of the Biltmore...

P.S. Mom & Dad...thanks again for the camera!

Sweet Oscar!

Today, Oscar and I used a "snow day." Oscar took more advantage of it than I did. While he was sleeping...I was checking email, cleaning house and playing with Taste of Home. Here are some pics I took of sweet little Oscar.

There She is........Miss Hospitality

Tori Ferguson is not only Starville's Miss Hospitality.....BUT, she is Mississippi's Miss Hospitality as well! WHOO HOO! Goooo Tori! MSU is very proud of Tori and recognized her pre-game on Saturday. Here are some pics from that. I am Tori's director on the local level...hence my pics with her.

A for Effort

Although we lost the game on Saturday, we had great food! Of course, that is indeed why we go to ballgames! Here are some pics from our tailgate. ENJOY!P.S. Nevermind the sandwich that only had RI on it. That was my first sandwich to pipe the mustard on! :)

So glad that we were able to tailgate with Lindsey, Alex, Shay and Jeremey! It was such a great weekend and WONDERFUL weather! Too bad we couldn't pull out a W!
