I just don't know what to do with myself on Thursday nights anymore. For the past 2 years, I have been plagued with night classes.
Over the weekend, I tried new things in the kitchen. I roasted a chicken. In the crockpot. For 10 hours.
I.Will.Never.Do.It.Again.
Do you see the bag laying beside the chicken? That would be the nasty stuff like gizzards, and other inner workings that should never be placed in a plastic bag and shoved back in a chicken only for you to remove and dry heave over the kitchen garbage can.
I like chicken. I don't like fried chicken. I don't like chicken with bones.....or skins.....or blood. The thought makes me want to pull the kitchen garbage can by my side. This isn't a new discovery. It started when I was young......and I was "assisting" my sweet Mom-O in the kitchen on a Sunday for our family lunch. She tasked me with "turning" the chicken in the frying pan. While turing chicken with a fork, I saw blood.....that was coming out of the chicken.....and the chicken was cooking in it.
And I was done.
No more fried chicken for this gurl.
It was a good thing that my mama was at my house on Saturday night.....she had to prepare my chicken for the crockpot. Call me weird.......but, I don't want to remove plastic bags from the cavity of ANYTHING! I'm more of a boneless skinless type of girl.
Anyway, the chicken did taste great! And it was easy to cook.......so easy that all I did was watch mom place it in my crockpot....I sprinkled the below ingredients over it and cooked on low for 10 hours.
I made 3 meals out of the chicken........plus I saved all of the chicken broth and made cream of chicken (which is REALLY easy). If you find yourself in a debacle while cooking and need 1 more can of cream of chicken......save your gas money and just make your own. For us Southerners, this is really a thick roux.
The take away from this post is: buy the rotisserie chicken at your Kroger's. Spend the extra 50 cents and save yourself the dry heaves from pulling a bag out of a cavity. An't nobody got time for that!

Girl, this is so funny! I would never have even thought to attempt such a thing. Give me premade anytime! Ha!
Lessons learned! For the same price.....I don't have pull plastic bags out of chicken butts! haha!
